Inspirations
The mathematics curriculum is often dry and the focus for teaching it is more on how to do mathematics rather than exploring the mystery of pattern, space and motion to cultivate curiosity and wonder. The following links are to various sites/pages which add some much needed spice into what, for most of us is a limited scope, of what mathematics involves.
Mathigon
A fantastic website created by Philipp Legner. A totally refreshing approach to discovering, understanding and learning mathematics for all ages. There's so much here to explore. Highly recommended.
Khan Academy
Another great site for learning mathematics. A combination of video and written tutorials for free. It is based on the American curriculum and so differs in its weighting of requirements. It has an appealing game-like structure.
Numberphile
I love this Youtube channel. A great, relaxed and creative way of exploring mathematics. The creator plays the role of the layman, asking questions to various doctors and professors about different areas of mathematics that you haven't likely been exposed to.
Maths Stackexchange
I don't know of a more complete forum on the internet. The stackexchange is a site hosting lots of communities with experts in their field. This is the one for mathematics. There isn't a better place to get free help with something you're struggling with.
Wolfram Alpha
A computational search engine like no other. Ask it anything. A major go-to if you need a pointer for a solution to a problem you are stuck with.
Paper Polyhedra
Love this site. Fun making some great 3D geometrical shapes. It provides the nets to build them but one could challenge themselves further with a compass and a straight edge to produce them by yourself.
Infinity Plus One
A fantastic Blog with some great articles on the deeper side of things. Brilliantly written and very approachable.
PBS Infinite Series
A great YouTube channel from the American TV service PBS. A high level of production, pitching digestible advanced mathematics.
