Online and Face-to-Face One-To-One Tuition

If you are looking for bespoke tuition on an individual basis, then one-to-one tuition offers the best opportunity to make the most of the tutor-student dynamic, ask all the questions you thought about in class, build your confidence and really ground your understanding. My ability to give full attention is at its greatest here.

Depending on the changing climate of Covid-19, face-to-face tuition is subject to be temporarily replaced with online sessions until its prevalence dies down.

Nearly everyone has been forced to experience online working in some form during this period and I am sure many have realized its benefits. On my website, I have written about the benefits of online tuition over face-to-face tuition, but I am now probably preaching to the choir. In case you are still dubious, here are a few points below:

  • No travelling for both the tutor and client

  • Create printable/downloadable PDF notes on demand

  • Create downloadable recordings of the sessions (on request)

  • Able to utilise last-minute short sessions

  • Relative locations don't matter. We can always connect wherever we are.

My staples of software are BitPaper and Zoom. Both are free. BitPaper functions from a webpage, so no software needs to be downloaded. It is a collaborative real-time whiteboard with great functionality and a brilliant team that is actively developing the platform. Zoom functions like Skype but has a better interface and added tools. These paired with a graphics tablet, like a Wacom Tablet, takes online tuition to another level, keeps it engaging and enables full expression from both parties.

I do not travel to clients unless you are within 5-10 mins travel. For larger distances I charge for my travel time at my hourly rate of tuition less the 10 mins that I ordinarily would not charge for.

A-Level Group Tuition

Working with other students can be more suitable for some. Helping one to feel more comfortable and giving the opportunity to hear another perspective or question that you didn't think to ask. I recommend to find other students who are preferably in the same school or at least in the same exam board and of similar competency. If you know of other students who are interested in forming a group then please get in touch. If you want to pursue group sessions but don't know any other students, I can place you on a list for this purpose. Alternatively, we can start on a one-to-one basis until a group forms. Please inquire about rates for group tuition.
